Who is Inanna?

Inanna is the ancient Sumerian Goddess of sexual love, fertility and warfare. She is divinely gorgeous, intense and wild, and she has always been my personal example of feminine power. In a haunting myth, Innana descends to the underworld and undertakes a deeply symbolic rite of passage. Before she can descend below the earth, Inanna must strip off each piece of clothing, down to her royal jewels and headresses. Her journey is symbolic for the journey that we all must take as we unveil our true selves, stripping away layer upon layer of false social constructs, protective armor, and illusions.
